Oracle Rates First in Domino's Olive Oil Taste Test

Elly Leavitt — an olive oil fanatic and an associate editor at Domino Magazine — recently taste-tested five different oils for Domino, everything from Trader Joe’s house brand to the Pineapple Collaborative’s version to our very own, Oracle.

“The latest celebrity kitchen essential isn’t a Dutch oven,” she wrote. “It isn’t even a vibrant new dinnerware collection. It’s the unassuming bottle perched on your counter that typically sets you back around $4. I’m talking about olive oil. I decided to put three buzzy brands to a blind taste test, pitted against a couple humble grocery store options.”

Out of all the oils Leavitt tested, she liked Oracle the best. “Fresh, smooth, and olive-y in the best possible way; I could eat this with a spoon. It will make you forget butter exists as an alternative. Sourced in Laconia, Greece, from a single olive variety (Koroneiki), the oil has super-concentrated flavor — because of this, it would be an absolute tragedy to relegate it to frying eggs. Suffice it to say, it placed first of the five.”

Suffice it to say, we couldn’t agree more! Though Oracle’s high smoke point (410°) does mean that, technically, you can use it to fry eggs. But we appreciate the sentiment regardless. Check out the full story here.
